Spiritual Practice: Chakra Meditation

Take a seat on the pillow, the smell of incense and candles fill the air. I grab my steamy mug with mugwort tea, bitter tea, but I love it that way. I feel the tea helps me with my connection, because it relaxes me and makes my spirit warm. I love the ritual of it all, when I had enough tea I am ready to warm up with my favorite meditation for Chakra Clearing.

I like my room dark, and usually I love to wear something beautiful and comfortable. I feel great inside and out. I love to wear my silk sleep mask to make it extra dark and easier to concentrate. Now I focus on my breath to begin.

Inhale though the nose, exhale all tension you feel from your jaw, shoulders, feet, or anywhere you feel tension. Now work your way through your chakras with your breath recharging them with color and exhaling the mucky color cleansing each chakra.

Here’s an example of how I would do this mediation because this is completely intuitive and their is no wrong way, however there are proven ways to enhance mediations.

With your eyes closed, and in a seated position use visualization to associate colors of the chakras to their energetic locations in the body. There are seven main chakras in our body that we will focus on. Each of these charkas have an English name, a Sanskrit name, a color, and traits that chakra helps express.

Root Chakra- The Root chakra is located at the base of the spine, it is the color red, and is in relation to our security, survival, and safety. For this chakra I would visualize inhaling the color red, and sending that color to my tailbone area, on my exhale I imagine cleansing my chakra by exhaling a mucky color, I also like to release all tension from my body on the exhale. I feel some kind of sensation sometimes my skin will get chills when I begin this mediation. I have heard of people using objects instead of colors, for instance if you picture a red bell pepper and say to yourself that represents your root chakra it serves the same purpose from another perspective so don’t let anything stop you from doing it your way.

Sacral Chakra- The Sacral Chakra Is located in the hips and just below the naval, it is the color of orange, and is related to our creativity and sexuality. Just like above use breath to cleanse and clear the chakra as you release all tension from your body.

Solar Plexus Chakra- The Solar Plexus Chakra is located above the naval and below the rib cage, it has the color yellow and is related to our sense of self and place in society.

Heart Chakra- The Heart Chakra is located in the chest, it is the color green, and is responsible to our love for ourselves, for others and our connection or empathy with others.

Throat Chakra- The Throat Chakra is located in the neck throat it has the color blue and is related to communication, listening and expression.

Third Eye Chakra- The third eye chakra is the chakra that’s located in the middle of the forehead just between the eyebrows. This chakra has a violet or indigo color and is related to intuition.

Crown Chakra- The crown chakra is located at the top of our head, it is the color of white or gold and this is our connection to our highest self or the source.

After this you can end or do another mediation like a past life, mediumship, spirit guide, or cord cutting meditation.
